International Society for the Performing Arts
IPSA is a non-profit organization that develops and educates international art professionals and leaders who seek to advance the arts. The site is true to the mission of the organization: it provides a forum for leaders to exchange ideas. You can link up to the Web pages of other members, find out about future conferences, access a database on active members, or read featured articles and news.
Music Cast Album Database
This is an impressively thorough database for musicals. You can search through thousands of musicals for the composers, lyricists, artists, authors, conductors and songs. The listings of recordings and performances are amazing. You can find cast albums of musicals sung in Catalan, or find the singers for a musical performed in a Havana opera house.
While not all features are available at this time, most musicals covered on this site have at least a page of links to related sites, a song list, a synopsis, and a forum for discussing the musical.
National Alliance for Musical Theatre
NAMT is the only national service organization for musical theatre. It services a variety of members through a number of means such as advocacy, financial assistance, and education. Link up to information on the group's programs and download an application on their annual Festival of New Musicals.
This site keeps listings and information on musical showings on and off Broadway and even offers listings of shows to come two seasons down the line. It also has an archive of shows all the way back to 1990. You can also use their search engine to find shows playing at a given date.
